POSITION SUMMARY:
TheCritical Care Pharmacy Specialist provides expert patient-specific pharmacotherapy and pharmaceutical care, acts as a resource to other health care professionals regarding clinical use of medications, and maintains cost effective use of medications. The Critical Care Pharmacy Specialist participates as a clinical reference to committees as needed such as the Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee, Medication safety, Code Blue, etc. or may be a participant if needed. The Critical Care Pharmacy Specialist may work weekends, holidays, days, evenings, and/or night shifts as assigned according to the position(s) primarily worked, qualifications to work in said position(s), and according to departmental needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Graduate of accredited school of pharmacy and current pharmacist license by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy. Advanced training (residency, fellowship, and/or board certification).
Required length of experience:
- PGY1 residency PGY2 residency in infectious disease 2 years of experience in area or
- PGY1 4 years experience in practice area or
- 5 years experience in practice area
Required licensure, certification, and/or registry:
- BCCCP or national fellow status
- Maintains BLS and ACLS certification
- Appointment as a faculty member at NEOMED preferred
