We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Payable (AP) Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounts payable functions within a high-volume environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing AP processes, with a strong background in using Deltek Costpoint to ensure accuracy and efficiency in processing a high volume of transactions. You will lead a team, ensure timely payments, and maintain accurate records in line with company policies and industry regulations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the daily accounts payable functions for a high-volume organization, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in processing invoices, payments, and expenses.
- Supervise and mentor a team of accounts payable staff, providing training, support, and performance management.
- Review and approve accounts payable transactions, ensuring proper coding and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Use Deltek Costpoint to process, track, and manage invoices, ensuring that all transactions are recorded accurately and efficiently.
- Manage and coordinate weekly payments process, ensuring all payments are made in accordance with proper approvals, agreed terms and within deadlines.
- Reconcile accounts payable ledger and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Procurement, Finance, and Operations) to resolve payment issues and optimize AP processes.
- Monitor vendor relationships and resolve issues related to billing, payments, and contract terms.
- Prepare and review monthly AP reports and provide insights to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and company policies.
- Develop and implement process improvements to streamline the AP workflow and enhance efficiency.
Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Strong experience with Deltek Costpoint is a must.
- Proven ability to manage high-volume accounts payable operations efficiently.
- In-depth understanding of accounts payable processes, financial regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to quickly prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
- Experience in a government contracting or similar industry with complex billing and compliance requirements.
- CAPP, CAPS, CAPA, CP2P or other relevant certifications (a plus).
