Maintenance Technician
Summary/Objective
Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor provides maintenance work of routine difficulty. Performs related work as assigned.
Essential Functions

- Performs routine maintenance on building interior and exterior at multiple Agency locations.
- Recommends vendors and contractors for necessary building repairs and emergencies that are outside the scope of routine maintenance. Contacts vendors and contractors after receiving approval from supervisor.
- Maintains a schedule of when maintenance has been performed and when next service is due.
- Works in a safe manner and recognizes unsafe situations. Takes appropriate action to ensure safety of themselves and others in Agency buildings.
- Communicates with supervisor regularly regarding building maintenance issues and/or concerns.
- Maintains maintenance on Agency vehicle fleet. Completes monthly vehicle checklists and turns in to supervisor.
- Maintains high standards of confidentiality of all employees and client records and information.
- Provides all requested work in a timely manner.
- Collaborates with Agency staff and handles all maintenance requests with a customer-focus.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand or sit for extended periods; walk, run, talk and hear; use hands and fingers to handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands arms; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 30 pounds, frequently lift or move items up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This can be a full-time or part-time position. Days and general hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position may require overtime.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day.
Required Education and Experience
A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred. Experience in building/home maintenance preferred.
A Criminal Background Check, Abuse check, Motor Vehicle check, Fingerprints, as well as a pre-employment physical are required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration
- A valid driver’s license and a driving record sufficient to qualify for agency automobile coverage, which includes a minimum of two years driving experience with a permanent driver’s license.
