Description

 

Role: Responsible for the direct care and supervision of the youth residing at the Transitional Therapeutic Home, which may include infants, children and/or adolescents. Promote therapeutic, evidence-based, and culturally responsive program services, using DHS and JCS Models of Care and Practices as outlined in the CWES Contract.

Description of Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Promote services and implement strategies and activities that are consistent with the DHS’s Family-Centered Model of Practice, the DHS’s Child Welfare Model of Practice, JCS’s Model of Practice, and the DHS Guiding Principles with the goal of promoting each Child’s Safety, Permanency, and Well-Being.
  2. Provide direct care for youth, including participation in recreational activities, various housekeeping functions and other daily activities/routines/living skills which may include: hygiene, peer relationships, adult relationships, money management, school homework, room cleaning, laundry, chores, etc.
  3. Successfully complete First Aid/CPR, CPI, Medication Manager training, and maintain current certifications. Administer medication according to Agency policy.
  4. Participate in required trainings that will help inform and support the children/youth in our care.
  5. Provide transportation, as necessary, for residents on a regular and emergency basis.
  6. Serve as an adult role model. Treat all staff, residents and other visitors with dignity and respect.
  7. Provide great customer service to all staff, residents, resident families, referring agencies, external professionals, and the public.
  8. Communicate with supervisors as needed to obtain feedback related to the implementation of the individual care plans.
  9. Record/document resident progress as directed.
  10. Monitor residents to ensure all Transitional Therapeutic Home rules are being followed and provide appropriate consequences as needed.
  11. Be familiar with each resident’s case history and background.
  12. Attendance at all mandatory staff meetings and trainings.
  13. Be familiar with all policies, not only for Crittenton Center as a whole, but the specific policies and procedures for working the Transitional Therapeutic Home.
  14. Adhere to Social Work Code of Ethics.
  15. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications for Position:

A high school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of one (1) year of full-time experience in child welfare services is preferred. Criminal background and abuse check, as well as an up to date physical, including a TB test is required.

Onsite Supervisor

Skills and Knowledge:

Preferred experience and expertise with youth.

Personal Qualities:

Passion for working with at-risk youth and their families.

Amount of Travel & Other Special Conditions:

Travel will be required to transport youth to and from school, meetings, and appointments.

Hours of Work:

24-hour shift schedules, including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
