Primary Responsibilities :
System Administrators (SAs) will plan, build, administer, and maintain SAP information systems that utilize a variety of technologies such as virtualization, virtual desktop infrastructure, Linux, Windows, Splunk, and variety of user software in accordance with the Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG) and Risk Management Framework (RMF).
Tasks Performed :
SAs will ensure information systems are secure, available, and able to obtain and maintain authority to operate. They will prepare and maintain documentation required to secure, operate, and maintain information systems. SAs will communicate with the information technology (IT) and management to ensure everyone is aware of issues and plans to resolve issues. They will configure networking equipment such as switches, routers, and firewalls.
SAs will assess proposed configuration changes to information systems and develop plans for implementing changes. They will participate in the change control and configuration management processes and will ensure configuration changes are appropriately documented and implemented. SAs may act as Data Transfer Agents (DTA) utilizing approved Assured File Transfer (AFT) procedures.
SAs will assist with the management of COMSEC keying material and equipment for multiple locations and configure and administer NSA approved Type 1 encryption devices in accordance with applicable policies and guidelines. SAs will participate in ITSM, Cybersecurity, and other planning processes including contingency planning, patch planning, backup and recovery planning. They will implement developed plans.
SAs will perform regular patching and vulnerability scanning in accordance with approved Cybersecurity policies. They will implement STIGs and resolve vulnerabilities identified by ACAS scans. SAs will report the results of patching and scans and maintain related metrics. They will create and maintain documentation for all information systems including system build guides and maintenance logs.
Required Education : High School diploma or GED.
Required Experience :
Candidate must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience performing the duties described in this position description.
Candidate must meet the IAT II certification requirements (provide certifications) or obtain certifications no later than six months after position acceptance, in accordance with DoD 8570.01M, DoD 8140, and DoD 5239.2.
Desired Experience :
Candidate should have experience with Linux systems, Windows systems, Virtualization platforms such as VMWare or Openshift, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, Altassian products such as Jira or Confluence, and Networking products such as Sisco and F5.
Candidate should have experience administering SAP information systems.
Allowable Experience / Education Substitutions : Experience cannot be substituted for education.
Security Clearance Required : A final DoD Top Secret clearance.
Estimated Travel : 10%
