What are the responsibilities and job description for the Polysomnographic Technologist position at CRMC?
POSITION SUMMARY
- The Polysomnographic Technologist performs standard procedures on patients being treated for sleep disorders. This includes preparing and observing patients for polysomnograms. They work under the general supervision of the medical director or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in center and home sleep apnea testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and patient education. The Polysomnographic Technologist is responsible for preparing patients for standard polysomnography to include MSLT and MWT testing in accordance with protocols. They will score their studies in a timely manner following AASM guidelines.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to a certificate or associate degree with an emphasis in sleep technology or RT with Sleep Disorder Specialist certification, successful completion of a sleep technology program associated with a state licensed and / or a nationally accredited educational facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency for all competencies required of a sleep technician.
If RT licensed by the Board of Medical Practice (BMP) with the Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) credential or if they are a Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) needs to be licensed through Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (BRPT). American Heart Association BLS within 30 days of hire.

Perform effective patient assessment by obtaining information from the patient and their medical record and determine appropriate recording procedures, methodology, and any special considerations
The estimated starting pay range for this role is $68,454.00 to $80,659.00. Actual pay rate offered depends on many factors including each individual employee's experience level, preferred education / certifications, along with market conditions.
