Overall Description:
Croda is seeking a Regional Supply Chain Manager responsible for directing strategic and tactical improvement of the Supply Chain organization to provide cost effective customer service to standards agreed with Sales and Marketing. Manage regional Supply and Demand teams, Imports/Exports and Warehouse and Logistics teams.
Key Job Responsibilities:
KEY DUTIES:
Provide leadership, coaching and development to the supply chain team, which may include countries, sites, central supply chain, customer service and import teams. This involves organizational design as well as optimization of ways of working, processes, and systems.- Direct supervision of managers and other staff. This includes objective setting, recommending compensation, disciplinary issues etc. It may also involve coordination of supply chain activity across a number of sites (dotted line relationship). It may involve development of capability and chain professionals in the business.
- Develop and co-ordinate forecasting and demand planning processes. This includes chairing monthly communications with sites, sales teams in North America and internationally with counterpart supply chain managers. The jobholder is accountable for the design and smooth operation of the monthly Sales and Operations Planning cycle.
- Develop and co-ordinate medium to long-term planning processes, taking into account marketing and sales plans, plant sourcing strategies, and freight cost optimization.
- Take a leading role in resolving supply and demand imbalances in the short and longer term. Finding solutions to such problems will involve liaising with multiple sites and dealing with all levels in the organization up to Senior Vice President. The financial impact of decisions made can be very significant and underpins key customer relationships.
- Liaise with supply chain management in Croda Overseas organizations to drive supply chain improvements on a global basis, with a specific coordination focus on Croda North America. This role has responsibility for North American distribution infrastructure optimization.
- Develop and coordinate stockholding policies and the coordination efforts to reduce slow moving stock to meet business working capital targets.
- Develop, share, implement and drive best practice standards throughout the North American Supply Chain. Derive and apply a set of appropriate supply chain performance measures (KPIs).
- Ensure that SAP processes match actual business processes and vice versa and provide expert input to SAP improvement and change programs.
- The role holder is expected to manage projects that can last for up to 18 months which have significant importance to the North American business in terms of systems and efficiency improvements.
SPECIFIC REGULATORY/ LEGAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Compliance with customs regulations.
- Compliance with Transport of Hazardous Goods regulations.
Education & Training
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or supply chain experience required.
Knowledge & Experience
- 7-10 years’ SAP experience in materials management.
- Experience in design and implementation of Supply Chain systems, including distribution, packaging, commercial, procurement, planning, financials, scheduling, and forecasting.
- Experience in management of people and departments.
- Track record of managing change successfully.
- Knowledge of import regulations to ensure compliance with US legal requirements.
- Experience of site operations overview as appropriate.
- Understanding of the chemical industry.
Skills & Abilities
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
- Must have oral & written proficiency in the English language.
- Excellent communication skills.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Proficient in MS Office. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with SAP.
OTHER SKILLS:
- Ability to assimilate a wide variety of information quickly.
Physical Demands
- Ability to walk, sit, or stand for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
