Industrial Design Architect

Position Overview

Cromwell Architects Engineers is seeking a talented and experienced Industrial Architect(s) to join our team. Candidates should have good communication skills, be well organized, and have the ability to work in a flexible environment. Experience in design, production and construction documentation in institutional, industrial and commercial projects is a must. Qualified candidates must be able to fulfill essential job functions, as listed below.

What to Expect

This is a challenging role that requires a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of industrial design principles. As an Industrial Architect, you will be responsible for designing and planning industrial facilities, ensuring they are efficient, functional, and aesthetically pleasing. You will collaborate closely with clients, engineers, and project teams to develop designs that optimize workflow, maximize productivity, and meet the specific requirements of each project.

The candidate will lead or be part of an architectural design team and direct design documentation efforts. Ideal candidates would possess strong leadership ability and be willing to take an active role in all architectural phases, from initial concept development to final construction. Qualified applicants will possess the ability to lead in problem solving by applying foundational principles of design, and exhibit the ability to work independently, and have exceptional time management skills necessary to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Job Functions & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients and project teams to determine project requirements, goals, and objectives
• Design and develop industrial facility layouts, considering factors such as workflow, space utilization, equipment placement, and safety regulations.
• Create detailed architectural drawings, blueprints, and 3D models using industry-standard software. Conduct site visits and assessments to evaluate existing facilities and gather data for design and renovation projects.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to ensure seamless integration of architectural designs with structural, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, codes, regulations, and technologies related to industrial architecture.
• Present design proposals and concepts to clients and stakeholders, incorporating their feedback and making necessary revisions.
• Provide guidance and support to junior Architects and interns, fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented environment.

Minimum Requirements

• Licensed Architect or Architect Intern/Designer Eligible for licensing
• 5 years of demonstrated professional experience in the A/E/C industry.
  
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, with a proven ability to produce accurate and detailed drawings in institutional, industrial, and commercial projects.
