Overview
We are seeking dedicated and passionate Long Term Sub Math Teacher to join Cromwell Middle School. As a Long Term Substitute Math Teacher, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the continuity of learning for students in the absence of their regular math teacher. This position requires a strong commitment to educating and nurturing students, ensuring that they receive a high-quality educational experience.
Duties
- Implement and possibly create lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure that students continue their learning effectively.
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding classroom activities and student progress.
- Educate students in Math, while adapting to different learning styles and needs.
- Support students with special education requirements by implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) as needed.
- Engage in lesson planning and preparation for future classes when applicable.
- Foster an atmosphere of respect and encouragement among students, promoting their social and emotional development.
Experience
- Previous experience working with students in an educational setting is highly preferred.
- Strong classroom management skills to maintain order and focus during lessons.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles to support the diverse needs of learners.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Experience in lesson planning, particularly for diverse classrooms, is beneficial.
- Understanding of special education practices to assist all learners effectively.
Math Certification preferred or the abililty to get a DSAP or Long Term Sub Authorization with the CT State Department of Education.
