PURPOSE OF POSITION
Perform general janitorial in a clean, orderly and functional condition. Provide a safe, supportive and sober living environment.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Possess high school or general equivalent diploma.
Minimum of one year experience in building, utility and maintenance work.
Relate to city and county officials, staff, visitors and residents in a courteous manner.
Acquire necessary job skills with three months of on-the-job training.
Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Work occasionally in inclement weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow.
Must attend all required staff meetings and trainings.
Must attend new employee orientation.
Must be free of any chemical use issues or pending legal concerns.
Current certification in basic emergency first aid and CPR within one year of hire.
Must possess an active MN driver’s license and pass the MN DL background check. Satisfactorily pass the State of MN Human Services background study during probation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervised by and receives oral/written orders from the Administrative Staff. Reports directly to Assistant Director.
- Inform Assistant Director about any issues which include safety of the house, death of resident and self harm or harm to another resident.
- Performs work according to Cronin Homes standard janitorial cleaning procedure
- Cleans hallways, restrooms, dining room, offices, stairways and windows.
- Uses brooms, mops, and floor equipment to sweep and mop.
- Uses vacuum cleaners and other equipment to clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and blinds.
- Dusts furniture and equipment.
- Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors and sills.
- Empties wastebaskets.
- Replenishes restroom supplies.
- Assist in sets up and tear down chairs, tables, and equipment in meeting rooms and dining room (i.e. fundraisers, workshops, presentations, meetings).
- Assist preparing rooms for use by Cronin Board and other organizations.
- Follows all applicable safety rules and procedures.
- Follows Cronin Home security procedures.
- Reports work accomplished orally or in log book to Admin. Staff.
- Assists in monthly resident room inspections checking smoke detectors, outlet covers, heat/air conditioners, carpet/wall/window, closet door conditions and change all filters.
- Performs duties with accordance with the ethics set forth by Cronin Home Inc..
- Follows Employee Handbook guidelines.
- Communicate to staff issues, concerns and observations in the daily log as they occur and at the end of each shift.
- Assist Kitchen Manager in the kitchen, cleaning, doing dishes, food prep work, cleaning dining room tables, carrying groceries and light dusting on an as needed basis
- Leave facility after each shift clean and prepared for incoming staff.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
