Summary
Cronos is looking for a Lead A/V Technician to support one or more ongoing Audio Visual (A/V) and Video Teleconferencing
(VTC) projects for our government customers. This individual will work with Technicians, Field Engineers, and Project
Managers to deliver high quality integrated electronic communication systems in mission critical environments. The applicant
should have knowledge and experience installing systems following best practices consistent with AVIXA’s industry standards
and manufacturer’s specifications.
Responsibilities
- In wall, above ceiling, and below floor routing and termination of infrastructure CAT5/6 cable.
- Labeling of infrastructure cable, patch panels, patch cords, and equipment per technical design drawings.
- Certification of CAT5/6 cabling.
- Equipment rack building and internal point to point wiring in accordance with technical design drawings with a high level of
craftsmanship.
- Installation of A/V equipment such as large format LED displays, ceiling speakers, microphones, cameras, and video walls.
- Stage-2 testing of received A/V equipment.
- Assist with the testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of various A/V systems.
- Perform inventory management and record configuration information on installed equipment and software modules.
Travel
Candidates must be willing to travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites up to three weeks at a time to support on-site
installations. Total travel is approximately 50%.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience performing testing and/or integration of electronics equipment.
- Ability to follow schematic wiring diagrams.
- Ability to work in team environment.
- Good verbal and written communications abilities.
- Experience using MS Office products.
- Must be able to lift items up to National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) limits.
- Must be able to stand, kneel and/or crouch for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to perform work while on a ladder or scaffolding.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces.
- Must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional, and help create, develop, and implement project process
improvements.
Desired Qualifications
- AVIXA CTS and CTS-I (Certified Technical Specialist)
- JSTD Certification(s)
- Electrical background (i.e., installation of circuit breakers and other electrical components, computation relating to
electrical load requirements of wiring)
- Experience with the following A/V equipment manufacturers:
- Crestron
- Extron
- Biamp
- Shure
- Cisco
- Current Secret or above security clearance
Education
High School diploma or GED
Clearance
All applicants for this position must have and maintain a Secret security clearance and possibly a Top-Secret/SCI clearance; please note that the clearance process takes into account financial background aspects.
Compensation
The SCA (Service Contract Act) role at Cronos is subject to the regulations and guidelines set forth by the U.S. Department of Labor. As an SCA position, it is classified as a service contract and is subject to specific wage determinations and benefit requirements mandated by the government. The compensation and benefits for the SCA role at Cronos will be in accordance with the prevailing wage rates and benefits specified by the Department of Labor for the specific job classification and location.
