Position Overview
The Sales Representative is responsible for the service of our partnering retailers. This includes the direct sales of all CSA’s product portfolio, representing our partnering suppliers by educating retailers about their artisan products, and creating/maintaining strong relationships in a competitive Colorado beer market. This includes merchandising, stocking, and calling on all accounts as needed. A successful candidate for this position will be able to understand the business needs of the company and the account at a deep level and serve as a craft beverage consultant to retail and on premise establishments in the territory. This position reports to the Sales Manager. This is a full-time exempt position for the purposes of federal wage-law and will not be eligible for overtime pay for hours actually worked in excess of 40 in a given workweek. Workdays and hours will vary between weekdays, weekends, days and nights.
Essential Functions
Work independently to sell all artisan products within CSA’s portfolio by developing and maintaining effective customer relationships with buyers of On Premise retail establishments within territory- Grow account base by identifying accounts that are not currently carrying CSA’s products, developing relationships and opening new accounts to increase market presence
- Identify and understand customers’ needs and dynamics in the marketplace; discuss pricing, promotions, new products, shelf placement, etc. with retailers; design and execute events including beer dinners, liquor store tastings, staff educations, and festivals
- Manage time and priorities in an effective and efficient manner; track and monitor progress in all identified accounts by establishing a regular schedule of appointments; compile and submit sales reports and utilize all sales-related software regularly as required
- Maintain general inventory controls within accounts, merchandise and stock new products as needed, manage back-stock of product, ensure adequate product freshness at accounts.
- Observe all state and federal laws pertaining to the sale, merchandising and promotion of products
- Collect account payments and make routine payment deposits to CSA offices or qualified bank.

Core Competencies
- Must be punctual, professional, self-motivated and employ effective time management skills
- Experience with On and Off Premise alcohol sales
- Comfortable speaking in front of small groups to execute staff trainings and product presentations
- Passion for and in depth knowledge of craft beer
- Strong customer service skills and ability to think quickly and find solutions for customer issues
- Knowledgeable about beer, cider, mead, spirits and wine
- Desire to increase knowledge-base of everything fermentable
- Basic computer skills and demonstrated proficiency with handheld mobile computer required
- Familiarity with draft system dynamics and ability to troubleshoot when necessary
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written with clients, coworkers and supervisors in the primary language used in the workplace.
- Must be able to continuously sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and lift, carry and handle up to 170 lbs.
- Must be able to work in varying temperatures and climates
Required Education and Experience
- Two or more years of relevant work experience in a sales-related role
- Prior experience in distribution or beverage is a strong plus but not required
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record and reliable and safe vehicle
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
Work Environment
Work is performed individually and within a team setting as well. Regular communication between management and co-workers is critical. Reliable transportation is required, and the position will require fair amount of hours on the road between account calls.

Compensation
Total monetary compensation falls between $50,000-$60,000 made up of salary, commission, incentive, and bonus opportunity. Fuel/car and some meal expenses provided.
