Crooker Construction is looking to hire a safety-focused and experienced Tire Technician to
manage the changing of tires for pickup trucks, heavy dump trucks, and heavy construction
equipment such as loaders. The Tire Technician will be responsible for dismounting and mounting
tires, cleaning hubs and wheels for corrosion, repairing tires, balancing tires, torquing lug nuts to
correct specifications, keeping the tire shop clean and organized, and working with the shop team
to submit orders for new tires.
Most of the work will be done at the Topsham yard but the selected candidate will also need to
travel to job sites to complete tire repairs and replacements in the field.
When the tire work is caught up, the selected candidate will spend their time welding in the weld
shop or assisting with vehicle repairs in the mechanic shop based on the selected candidate’s
skills.
This position is full-time year-round. During the winter, the employee will be assigned snow
removal duties as part of a snow crew.
Requirements:
- Must be dependable
- Must have good communication and documentation skills
- Must be able to work independently and successfully switch between tasks throughout
the day
- Must be able to work the necessary schedule which may include long days, nights, and/or
weekends
- Must have a valid driver’s license, commercial driver’s license class A or B is preferred
- Previous experience changing and installing tires is required
