Responsibilities:
- Joyfully greet and welcome guests upon arrival, creating a positive first impression.
- Manage the restaurant's seating chart efficiently, accurately estimating wait times and seating guests promptly.
- Answer phone calls and take reservations, providing accurate information about the restaurant and menu.
- Effectively communicate with servers, bussers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth table turnover and guest satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean and organized host/hostess station and lobby area.
- Assist with other front-of-house tasks as needed, such as distributing menus and handling guest inquiries.
- Handle guest complaints and concerns professionally and efficiently, escalating to management when necessary.
- Accurately maintain the wait list and inform guests of their seating status.
- Provide excellent customer service to all guests.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a restaurant host/hostess role is preferred, but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Friendly, outgoing, and positive personality.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with restaurant reservation systems (a plus).
- A passion for providing exceptional customer service.
