Position Overview:
The Pastor of Church Life is responsible for fostering a vibrant and engaged church community by providing leadership and oversight to various ministries, programs, and events that promote spiritual growth, discipleship, fellowship, and service. This role is focused on building strong relationships within the congregation, equipping leaders, and creating a welcoming and supportive environment for individuals and families at all stages of life.
Key Responsibilities:1. Leadership and Vision
- Collaborate with the Lead Pastor and staff to implement the church's mission, vision, and values.
- Develop and oversee strategies to engage members in the life of the church and their spiritual journey.
- Identify areas for growth and create initiatives to strengthen community connections within the church.
2. Discipleship and Spiritual Formation
- Provide leadership for small groups, Bible studies, and discipleship programs.
- Develop and implement pathways for spiritual growth, ensuring members are equipped to grow in their faith.
- Mentor and train small group leaders and ministry volunteers.
3. Pastoral Care and Relationships
- Build relationships with members, ensuring everyone feels known, valued, and cared for.
- Provide pastoral support through counseling, encouragement, and prayer.
- Collaborate with the pastoral team to ensure effective care for individuals and families during times of need (e.g., hospital visits, funerals, crises).
4. Ministry Oversight
- Oversee and support age-specific and life-stage ministries, including children, youth, young adults, families, and seniors.
- Coordinate volunteer recruitment, training, and retention efforts for church ministries and events.
- Ensure all programs and events align with the church's mission and are executed with excellence.
5. Events and Community Engagement
- Plan and execute churchwide events that foster fellowship and outreach (e.g., retreats, social gatherings, outreach projects).
- Develop strategies to engage new members, helping them integrate into the church community.
6. Administration and Collaboration
- Collaborate with staff to maintain a cohesive and unified approach to ministry.
- Manage budgets, schedules, and resources for church life ministries.
- Regularly communicate ministry updates to staff, volunteers, and the congregation.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A clear and vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- A bachelor's degree in ministry, theology, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
- Proven experience in pastoral leadership and church ministry.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lead, equip, and inspire staff and volunteers.
- A heart for building relationships and fostering community within the church.
- Organizational and administrative skills to manage multiple ministries and events effectively.
- A commitment to the mission, vision, and core values of the church.
Reporting Relationships:
- Reports to: Lead Pastor
- Supervises: Ministry leaders, volunteers, and staff under the Church Life umbrella
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $2,500.00 - $4,000.00 per month
Expected hours: No more than 30 per week
