Position Summary
SIGN ON BONUS
Provides basic nursing care to residents within the scope of the nursing assistant responsibilities and performs basic nursing procedures under the direction of the licensed nurse supervisor.
Principal Responsibilities
Participates in and receives nursing report upon reporting for duty and documents information accurately
Assists with lifting, positioning, and transporting residents into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, etc.
Assists residents in ambulation with or without self-help devices as instructed
Accurately measures and records temperatures, pulses, respirations, and blood pressures (TPRs and B / P) as instructed
Ensures that residents’ personal care needs are being met in accordance with residents’ wishes
Maintains cleanliness of resident units, central bathing area, treatment and supply rooms, workrooms, and linen closets; cleans bedpans, urinals, and commodes; washes basins and emesis basins; sanitizes bathtub after each resident’s use; cleans floors if resident is incontinent; wipes spilled foods and liquids
Advises charge nurse of resident(s) condition beginning and end of shift
Ability to comply with Company and departmental safety policies and procedures
Account for personal care (i.e. Grooming, bathing, catheter care, and dressing), and observation of residents within patient care guidelines. Identify and report any condition requiring management attention
Provides hydration to all residents according to center policy
Ensures all protected health information is kept confidential
Reports all allegations of resident abuse, neglect and / or misappropriation of resident property
Provides range of motion exercise
Assures that residents are positioned appropriately for meals
Serves food trays and assists with feeding as indicated
Delivers and documents all a.m., p.m., and bedtime snacks and supplements
Performs miscellaneous tasks as required by policy or nurse supervisor
Physical Demands – Office
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and pull / push; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must lift and / or move up to 50 pounds without assistance and 51-100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
Work Environment – Office
This job operates in a professional office environment with minimal exposure to dust, chemicals, or noise. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
