SMALL GROUP ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE
POSITION PURPOSE
The Account Executive position is responsible for driving new business and managing existing client revenue retention and growth based upon assigned book of clients. Maintaining an active prospect pipeline to ensure new business growth. Executing sales goal year over year while retaining existing book of business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Overall management and oversight related to agency accounts (inclusive of sales functions) Successfully develop and deploy sales and marketing strategies with clients and prospects. Manage overall client relationship; Drive consistent and predictable profitability, client satisfaction and organic growth. Demonstrate technical knowledge necessary to communicate our solutions effectively. Achieve new business sales goals on an annualized basis based on our target market of companies. Demonstrate proficiency in discovery process (sales due diligence) and conceptual presentation promoting Cross competitive differentiation-including understanding, articulating, and delivering the Cross value proposition and specific solutions customized for each prospect. Collaborate with leaders in selecting appropriate team to effectively conduct prospect sales presentations including subject matter experts and account management staff tailored to each opportunity. Demonstrate ability to identify and overcome sales obstacles on a prospect-specific basis. Demonstrate strategic thinking and innovation based on knowledge of the market, carriers and products, including understanding of important technical/financial issues. Create positive synergy and pursue cross selling opportunities with other CBS practices to enhance prospect and client relationships across the company. Positively and proactively represent Cross at meetings, seminars, trade shows and networking events. Strategize with sales leader and senior account staff to retain clients. Work collaboratively with the account management and benefit specialist team and local/regional and national resources to maximize results. Understand and communicate client objectives to Service Team personnel. Maintain awareness of new developments or changes with the various carriers and new Federal/State laws that may affect how our clients must administer their benefit programs.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attend and complete any training sessions or assignments as required. Adhere to client service standards of the department and agency. Perform other tasks on projects as needed/assigned. Complete tasks in Brokerage Builder
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

- College degree preferred, however at a minimum a high school diploma or equivalent degree and at least three years of experience in employee benefits, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Maine agent’s license in Health and Life.
- Possess communication skills necessary to communicate with insurance companies, clients and prospects concerning employee benefit lines of coverage.
- High level of patience and empathy while working under pressure.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred, basic working knowledge required. Knowledge of Power Point preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to compose clear and accurate routine and non-routine correspondence.
- Proficient in managing projects
- Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, responsive and self-motivated.
- Familiarity with the health insurance industry and New England carriers preferred.
- Team player
- Possesses a bias for action and avoids workplace distractions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
