Job Description : Yard Jockey / Shipping / Forklift Operator
Position Type : Full-Time
Shift : Day shift training; Night shift (6 : 00 PM 6 : 30 AM) on a 2x2x3 schedule
Pay Rate : $21 / hour
Position Summary :
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Yard Jockey / Shipping / Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team. This position plays a key role in supporting our shipping and logistics operations by ensuring the efficient movement of trailers, managing inventory, and assisting with shipping tasks. While a forklift license and CDL are not required, previous experience with forklifts or yard operations is a plus.
Key Responsibilities :
- Yard Jockey Duties :
- Move trailers within the yard to facilitate loading and unloading.
- Ensure trailers are positioned accurately and securely for safe loading / unloading operations.
- Perform routine checks on equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Shipping Duties :
- Assist with loading and unloading shipments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Verify shipping documentation to ensure correct product and quantities are shipped.
- Collaborate with the shipping and receiving team to maintain efficient workflows.
- Forklift Duties :
- Safely operate forklifts to move pallets, materials, and products as needed.
- Organize and stage materials for loading or storage within the facility.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure safety compliance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety standards.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
