Project Accountant

PROJECT ACCOUNTANT

(MUST HAVE ACCOUNTING EXPERIENCE IN A CONSTRUCTION SETTING, SAGE EXPERIENCED REQUIRED AS WELL)

The Project Accountant will report to the CFO and is responsible for overseeing financial operations related to all projects, including cash management, accounts payable, contract billings, and job cost reporting.

Areas of responsibility include:

• Lead a transition and implementation to Sage 100 Contractor.
• Once implemented, maintain project and general ledger accounting in Sage 100 Contractor.
• Manage project-related records, including contracts and change orders. Prepare various financial reports, analysis and communicate recommendations for project performance improvements.
• Review and approve Vendor/Subcontractor invoices related to a project and ensure proper cost coding.
• Oversee subcontractor compliance as outlined in contracts.
• Investigate variances and discrepancies related to contract billing, budget-to-actual reports, time approval, and unbilled project costs.
• Close out project accounts upon project completion
• Act as Liaison between Project management team and Accounting to facilitate requested information and reporting.
• Assist with implementation of ERP automation tools and cross-platform integrations such as Sage 100 Contractor, ProCore and Excel.
• Compile information for CFO, Controller, and Owner as requested

A bachelor's degree in accounting, business, construction management, or engineering is recommended but not required. Minimum of 3 years hands on experience with detailed knowledge of project contracts and change order documents. Must have excellent communication and analytical skills. Experience with systems implementation and project accounting is a major plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
