20 hours per week- 6 month contract
We will be looking for the temp to be able to start with some training that might (depending on the candidate) be different (more days per week) than the schedule once trained. However for the right candidate, if their availability doesnt allow for more days initially for training, we can manage training to match the regular schedule.
Job Description : Quality Assurance Technician Part-Time (Onsite)
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to join our team. This 20-hour-per-week onsite position primarily involves Thursday and Friday shifts (7 : 00 AM to 5 : 30 PM) with some flexibility for training. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining product quality, food safety, and operational excellence, supporting the plants production and quality assurance goals.
Key Responsibilities :
Operational Excellence & Safety :
- Work safely and report any safety concerns, assisting in their mitigation.
- Comprehend and support plant and corporate protocols, programs, and systems, including Redzone, SAP, and Tekdan / Themis.
- Follow all regulations, policies, and procedures, maintaining audit-ready status at all times.
Communication & Collaboration :
Communicate effectively with all departments, management, and team members, notifying the appropriate teams of issues or concerns.Work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment, with or without supervision.Facilitate, attend, and actively participate in team meetings and department programs.Quality Assurance & Testing :
Perform analytical, chemical, microbiological, and allergenic analysis on routine and episodic samples.Provide oversight for facility systems and participate in checks and balance programs, such as coding checks, batch ownership (including corrections), filler inspections, and OQI reviews.Properly document and complete all required paperwork in a clear, legible, and accurate manner.Problem-Solving & Continuous Improvement :
Use root cause analysis to anticipate, mitigate, and resolve problems or conflicts proactively.React to data and perform mitigation for out-of-specification results.Participate in the creation and improvement of Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and preventive maintenance standards.Maintain a continuous improvement mindset, contributing to sustainable solutions and efficiency improvements.Equipment & Inventory Management :
Monitor, operate, maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair laboratory instruments and equipment independently.Manage product inventory using SAP and Redzone.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace following 5S and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).Compliance & Support :
Actively participate in all plant and department activities related to Quality, Food Safety, Focused Improvement, and Safety.Support programs such as Foreign Material Control, Calibration, Allergen Management, Environmental Monitoring, Cleaning and Sanitation, and Non-Conformance Reporting.Assist, train, and coach employees on Quality department tasks and processes.Qualifications : Required :
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to manage and react to data.Ability to communicate effectively across teams and departments.Proficiency in laboratory equipment operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.Familiarity with operational / management systems such as Redzone and SAP.Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team setting.Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively.Experience with continuous improvement initiatives and creating documentation, such as SOPs and Work Instructions.Preferred :
Prior experience in food or beverage manufacturing.Knowledge of root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.Familiarity with 5S methodology, HACCP principles, and other food safety standards.Work Schedule & Training :
