What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Worker/Clinical Supervisor position at Cross Roads House?
Position Summary:
To provide comprehensive, supportive social work and behavioral health crisis response services to Cross Roads House residents in order to address barriers to self-sufficiency and support their timely return to stable and decent housing. To provide training and clinical supervision to program interns. To provide clinical supervision to shelter case managers and to post-shelter housing stability case managers, supporting their work in collaboration with the Program Director.
Essential Responsibilities:
· Provide direct assessment and intervention to residents in mental health crises to determine and guide them through the next steps for outside provider treatment and support, in collaboration with shelter staff
· Provide guidance to direct service staff and shelter case managers in handling behavioral health challenges, including after-hours on-call support, in collaboration with the Program Director and administrative on-call staff
· Provide weekly individual clinical supervision to shelter case managers and housing stability case managers with between-meeting check-ins or support as needed
· Provide training and clinical supervision to graduate and undergraduate interns and coordinate intern placements with universities in collaboration with the Program Director
· Engage and maintain regular contact with a caseload of individual and family residents with primary behavioral health needs
· Assess residents for strengths and barriers, including housing, employment, mental health, substance use, and criminal history
· Collaboratively assist residents with establishing housing and self-sufficiency goals, identifying appropriate steps towards achieving goals, modifying goals as needed, and tracking progress
· Support and assist residents with housing and job search, budgeting and financial management practices, banking and credit repair, and self-advocacy
· Facilitate a wide variety of community resource referrals, coordinate with service providers, and advocate on behalf of residents as appropriate
· Maintain precise and accurate documentation of social work services, including paper and electronic records
· Adhere to professional and ethical guidelines, including maintaining appropriate boundaries with residents and supervisees and ensuring appropriate confidentiality
· Utilize and teach de-escalation, motivational interviewing, and other clinical skills to address crisis situations and to maintain resident engagement in case plan goals and cooperation with shelter rules
· Provide qualitative and quantitative information about resident progress, needs, and program outcomes
· Recommend and support improvements in program design and shelter operations
· Participate in local and region collaborative efforts and represent Cross Roads House
· Other duties as directed
Qualifications and Physical Demands:
· Master’s degree in social work
· Demonstrated experience/skills in behavioral health and crisis intervention and supervision
· Eligibility for employment in the United States
· Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods, indoors and outdoors
· A criminal background check will be conducted
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
