Position Title: Theater Teacher/ One Act Play Director/ Debate Coach
Division: High School
Number of months per year for which this position is budgeted: 10
Reports to: High School Principal
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach high school theater courses (Theater, Speech, & Debate Classes)
Plan for instruction through the regular maintenance of course curriculum
Implement assessments in each class to measure student learning and maintain a
timely gradebook
Attend faculty meetings and carry out assigned non-instructional duties
Direct the One Act Play for UIL competition.
Carry out other specific responsibilities as assigned by the Fine Arts Director, High
School Principal
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
High School Theater Teacher shall demonstrate evidence of strong organizational,
interpersonal, communication, and technological skills.
The High School Theater Teacher shall demonstrate proficiency in acting, directing,
set construction, artistic theater, and technical theater skills.
High School Theater Teacher shall demonstrate knowledge and the ability to instruct
students successfully in theater curriculum.
High School Theater Teacher shall demonstrate the ability to inspire learning through
effective classroom management and cultivate positive relationships with students.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Valid Texas Teaching Certification. Experience in theater preferred.
