Position Overview :
We are seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer to join our dedicated healthcare team in South Central, New York. As a licensed allied healthcare professional, you will play a pivotal role in promoting the optimal health of student-athletes and physically active individuals. Working under the direction of a physician, your expertise will focus on injury prevention, evaluation, management, emergency care, rehabilitation, and ensuring a safe return to play.
You will provide outreach services to high school and junior high athletics at contracted schools, contributing to the well-being and success of young athletes in our community.
Key Responsibilities :
- Deliver high-quality care to athletes, including injury prevention, immediate care, assessment, rehabilitation, and communication with providers.
- Monitor athletic activities for safety hazards and make recommendations to coaches or athletic directors regarding protective equipment.
- Develop and implement effective training and conditioning programs in collaboration with coaching staff.
- Assess, treat, and document emergent, acute, and chronic sports-related injuries and illnesses.
- Create individualized treatment plans under the supervision of the Medical Director or the athlete's physician / provider.
- Maintain thorough documentation in the EMR system for all injuries, treatments, and encounters.
- Provide return-to-play guidance for athletes in consultation with physicians and communicate effectively with school officials, parents / guardians, and coaches.
- Participate in professional development and continuing education to maintain and enhance skills.
