JOB SUMMARY
As an experienced technology expert, Application Specialists provide sales, technical, and marketing support to customers and field sales staff. Application Specialists must answer product and application related questions to assist with proper product selection and complete quotations in a thorough and timely manner. Function as a primary contact for customers and provide exemplary service while satisfying requirements promptly and accurately.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide technical support to sales staff and customers by answering product and application related questions, developing quotes, and troubleshooting problems.- Continuously improve and apply product knowledge to become recognized as technically proficient.
- Build strong customer relationships by understanding customers’ businesses, identifying their specific needs, understanding the competitive environment and communicating with a caring and friendly attitude.
- Build excellent relationships with our principal’s support staff.
- Attend and present relevant technical presentations as required at sales meetings.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Administrative
- Understand and comply with all Company policies and procedures.
- Prepare and submit reports in a timely manner.
- Participate in sales meetings, training programs, trade shows, and other industry related activities.
- Prepare technical documents, parts lists, and manuals for internal and external use.
- Receives general direction and work activities may be completed without pre-established procedures.
B. Technical
- Assist in the on-going technical education and development of the sales staff and customers.
- Promote and position key strategic product and service offerings.
- Provide pre-sales technical support during the sales process.
- Acts as a technical resource within the sales organization to meet and/or exceed sales objectives.
C. Sales and Marketing
- Demonstrate written and verbal communication skills to interface with sales staff and customers.
- Make recommendations on sales opportunities that will satisfy customer requirements.
- Understand company sales objectives, strategies, and accounts.
- Provide sales teams with information on customer applications and technical issues in a timely manner.
- Establish and maintain good relationships with key customers and suppliers.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Education and Experience- Must have 5 years of experience in Process technologies, products, and applications.
- College degree preferred.
- Possess excellent knowledge of key product lines or similar with in-depth technical expertise.
Knowledge Required
- Level of expertise in the product offering and applications of the assigned technology that equals or exceeds the level of the suppliers.
- Demonstrate the ability to learn key product information quickly.
- Demonstrate business skills to lead growth and profitability.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of the overall capabilities.
