Provides professional customer service by scheduling patients’ appointments, verifying insurances, identifying, responding to and often communicating patients’ needs to nurses and practitioners according to AccelHealth’s customer service standards. Enters and updates patient demographic and insurance information. Maintains patient confidentiality and ensures compliance with HIPAA policies and procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive calls from people requiring medical care and provide the information needed for properly scheduling.
- Be well versed with all information that the call center deals with. .
- Obtain and enter new patient demographics; updates patient information, as necessary, in the computer system to maintain accuracy for billing
- Become familiar with various aspects of medical insurance.
- Transfer calls to the respective place per caller’s requirements.
- Learn urgent call management techniques.
- Understand the requirements of the callers and provide precise information.
- Take accurate notes and convey information to respective providers
- Perform duties in accordance with AccelHealth Standards of Conduct and Mission Statement.
- Maintain patient appointment schedule on computer, updating demographic and pay source information.
- Schedule appointments for all providers to optimize patient satisfaction, provider time and most effective utilization of examining and treatment rooms.
- Accept job related training assignments and development in new tasks and technologies.
- Abide by infection control and hazardous materials policies and procedures as dictated in the CTHC Infection Control and Safety Manuals.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein as may be assigned or delegated, (similar physical requirements and OSHA risk level).

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: High School Diploma Degree or GED accepted.
- Experience: Prefer one year experience working with patient information and admissions to include scheduling of appointments.
- Bilingual/bicultural in English/Spanish preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.40 - $16.00 per hour
