Concrete Project Estimator
Crossfire Aggregate is currently seeking a Civil Concrete Project Estimator, specializing in the renewable energy sector. Our corporate office is located in Southwest Colorado.
Position Summary:
Under the direction of Crossfire Aggregate management, this position will be responsible for providing accurate cost estimates, evaluating project feasibility, and supporting the bidding process for civil concrete construction projects within the energy infrastructure sector. These projects may include substations, transmission facilities, and other energy-related structures. The estimator will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to assess material, labor, and equipment costs while ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
Responsibilities:
The core areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for concrete related civil construction aspects of energy infrastructure.
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and RFPs to develop comprehensive and competitive estimates.
- Work closely with the project team to optimize construction methods, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids for accuracy, scope, and competitiveness.
- Monitor market trends, material pricing, and construction techniques relevant to concrete construction within the energy sector.
- Support contract negotiations and provide input on budgeting and financial projections.
- Provide technical expertise in concrete materials, mix designs, formwork, placement, and curing methods.
- Keep management informed and focused on strategy and status.
- Define and achieve business objectives.
- Determines project costs/ensures delivery on time and within budgetary guidelines.
- Ensures consistency across Crossfire Aggregate’s business units and divisions.
- Performs cost/benefit analysis.
Qualifications:
Technical
- Capable of performing concrete takeoffs, including volume calculations, reinforcement, and formwork.
- Understanding of heavy equipment operations and productions.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Outlook, Excel, and Project.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- 5 years of experience.
- Ability to travel as needed.
Interpersonal:
- Ability to communicate verbally and written effectively with clients and Crossfire Aggregate personnel.
- Ability to understand and work effectively in a culturally diverse organization.
- Ability to be self-motivated and work proactively.
