SQL/ETL Developer Job Duties:
- Translate user business requirements into program specifications.
- Create database objects including Tables, Views, User-defined functions, Stored procedures, Joins, Dynamic SQL, Indexed Views, Daily Jobs, and Workflow objects.
- Develop business logic workflows in SQL Server using stored procedures, UDFs, views, temp tables, table variables, For loops, and CTEs.
- Perform performance tuning on database objects using SQL Profiler and Execution Plan for optimal data retrieval and updates.
- Utilize Execute SQL Task and Data Flow Tasks extensively in ETL packages.
- Monitor daily database jobs and data loads, resolving issues proactively to ensure maximum uptime and availability for reporting.
- Prepare Unit, Integration, and System test plans, execute them, and log results.
- Analyze and fix bugs in the existing system.
- Create documentation and follow standards and methodologies defined by the project manager.
SQL/ETL Developer Must-Have Skills:
- SQL Server development (2012, 2019)
- CTEs, Stored procedures, UDF, Database development
- SSIS package development, DB job debugging
- ETL
