Position Overview

We are seeking a Data Science Engineer to join our team on a part-time (24 hours / week) contract basis for 9 months with the potential for extension. This hybrid role is based partly on-site and partly remote in Wyandotte, MI . The ideal candidate will have experience in the full software development life cycle and be comfortable working with stakeholders, processing and visualizing business data, and implementing data analytics solutions.

This contract position is currently budgeted for 9 months (with the possibility of extension or direct hire for the right candidate) at a pay rate of $41.14 / hour based on education and experience. Benefits are available.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain user-friendly dashboards and data analytics applications in close collaboration with project managers and business teams.
Aggregate complex data from multiple repositories and integrate it into visualization and analytical tools.
Utilize Python (Streamlit), Power BI, and APIs to build and optimize dashboards.
Implement machine learning models and data processing workflows as needed.
Participate in requirements gathering, data architecture design, software development, and testing .
Document solutions, ensure best practices, and communicate with diverse stakeholder groups.
Work in an Agile / DevOps environment while contributing innovative ideas to improve digital solutions.

Work Schedule & Compensation

Part-time : 24 hours per week (flexible schedule).

Hybrid role : Some on-site work required with our client in Wyandotte, MI , with the option to work remotely.

Hourly pay : $41.14 .

Contract duration : 9 months , with the potential for extension.

Qualifications & Skills

Currently pursuing or holding a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Computational Science, or a related field .

Experience in the full software development life cycle (requirements analysis, development, testing, deployment).

Strong programming skills in Python , with experience in data modeling, machine learning, and dashboard development .

Familiarity with Power BI, Streamlit, or similar dashboarding tools .

Knowledge of APIs and data aggregation from multiple sources.

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills , with the ability to engage with stakeholders and project managers.

Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and a strong team player with a professional approach.

Ability to take initiative, contribute ideas, and work independently when necessary.
