Essential Job Functions
- Evaluate and assess the bio-psycho-social needs of patients.
- Must have knowledge of and experience using evidence-based therapeutic approaches, such as CBT and IPT
- Demonstrate an understanding of the most current edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM).
- Assist in determining the most appropriate level of care and develop comprehensive treatment plans in accordance with policy and procedures.
- Provide therapy and consultation when indicated to assist patient in learning about and managing mental illness and/or behavioral issues.
- Identify environmental and situational impediments to patients’ progress.
- Modify treatment plans to comply with changes in patients’ status.
- Complete assessment documentation in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with Behavioral health colleagues according to regulations for patient treatment.
- Provide crisis intervention
- Investigate and report suspected child or adult abuse or neglect cases and take authorized protective action when necessary.
- Create and facilitate programs to combatted social problems. Prevent substance abuse, or improve community health and counseling services.
- Provide individual and group therapy.
- Facilitate support groups.
- Act as a patient advocate.
- Provide public speaking and education services.
- Consistently models the organizations philosophy of customer service and compliance.
- Obtain and maintain state certifications.
- Ensure programs compliance with Wisconsin DHS Chapter 35.
- Responsible for composing and administering effective Performance Evaluations.
- Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge and implementation of Crossing Rivers Health policies and procedures in conjunction with management.
- Attend required meetings prepared and demonstrate active participation.
- Other job duties and responsibilities as assigned to effectively meet the needs of the patients, the department, and the organization as a whole.

Requirements
Education
- Master’s Degree Required, Field of Study: psychology, counseling, mental health, social work or related field.
Experience
- 2 years of experience in providing counseling services in a therapeutic environment preferred
- Preferred: At least two years’ experience working with children and adults with mental and/or behavioral health needs.
- Experience with STEPPS and DBT is highly desirable.
Computer Skills
- Proficient in basic computer skills.
Certifications & Licenses
- Must be certified as a mandatory reporter or be able to be certified.
- Ability to be licensed in the State of Wisconsin as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) OR
- APSW working toward LCSW or
- Licensed Professional Counselor In Training
Other Requirements
- Ensure department/program is in compliance and operating within the requirements of the Wisconsin Chapter DHS 35.
