Essential Job Functions
- Assists the chef, sous chef, cooks, and bakes in food preparation and serving, as necessary, utilizing checklists.
- Follows First In, First Out procedure.
- Retrieves, washes, and stores dishes.
- Transfers carts to nursing units and deliver meals as assigned.
- Prepares and delivers snacks and meals for patients.
- Cleans, Stores, and utilizes all equipment safely and properly.
- Answers phone calls and properly communicates and documents calls and requests.
- Records diet changes and prepares patient diet cards and room service menu sheets.
- Checks and records sanitizer concentration and food/beverage temperatures.
- Packages, labels, stores, and dates food and beverages as necessary and within proper expiration guidelines.
- Operates Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
- Performs and/or delegates other duties as deemed necessary for the continued viability and success of the department and organization as a whole.
- Maintains a clean, safe, sanitary, and organized department in conjunction with OSHA standards and Crossing Rivers Health policies.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to policies, procedures, rules and regulations of Crossing Rivers Health, including all safety and disaster plans.
- Attends required meeting prepared and demonstrates active participations.
- Other duties as assigned to meet department and organizational needs.

Experience
- Previous experience in the food service industry and handling large quantity food preparation preferred.
Certifications & Licenses
- Completion of Certified ServSafe Course, within the first year of employment that is to be repeated as necessary to remain current.
