Job Position – Pastor, Student Ministry - Community Center
Scope of Position:
The Pastor, Student Ministry - Community Center shall be a passionate and energetic leader with a desire to see students and their families find and follow Jesus, helping them learn to live by faith, be a voice of hope and be known by love. This person will develop and lead a strong team of volunteers in shepherding the lives of students at the Community Center. The person in this position will lead, recruit, and manage paid workers, Students ministry volunteers, programs, and curriculum to serve students on the weekends and during events and programs throughout the year as well as lead volunteer teams that minister to parents.

Areas of Responsibility:
- Lead, recruit and inspire volunteers to deliver meaningful, intentional and powerful experiences for youth from 7th to 12th grade to know the love of Jesus.
- Develop ministry methods that are relevant to the changing needs of our culture and families.
- Work cooperatively with the Students Ministries staff to insure an effective and successful ministry to the children, students and families of Crossings.
- Collaborate with the Associate Pastors at the Community Center, and other location staff for family friendly events to help bridge the gap between Community Center, Clinic and the Church.
- Plan and instruct baptism classes for students interested in being baptized, as this class helps assess a student’s readiness for baptism. Baptize students, as instructed by the Center Location Pastor or Associate Pastor.
- Ensure the Portable Church Crossings Students environments are ready and appropriately set up for Sunday Service in partnership with the facilities team.
- Create engaging, welcoming and comfortable environments for all Crossings Students classrooms and teaching areas from 7th to 12th grade.
- Create and maintain an engaging, welcoming, and supportive environment for the families of those whose youth who participate in Crossings Students.
- Collaborate with Community Center staff and other pastors to provide a sustainable home connection solution for families. This includes helping develop and execute classes and experiences for the community.
- Supervise and manage Students workers.
- Plan, prepare and submit annual budget requests for Students Ministry, collaborating with the Center Location Pastor, Associate Pastor, Community Center team members and other Crossings Students Pastors.
- Plan, prepare and execute annual training for the Students Ministry volunteer team.
- Complete all administrative responsibilities related to the position of Community Center Students Pastor.
- Assist in maintaining the highest possible ministry standards and professional ethics in accordance with the goals, Purpose Statement, and Core Values of Crossings Community Church (CCC).
- Support the leadership of CCC, contributing to the spirit of unity among the staff and congregation.
- Represent CCC in civic and ministry-related efforts as approved.
- Make connections with volunteers, families, and community members throughout the week, particularly outside of Sunday mornings.
- Connect with neighborhood schools and childcare facilities through outreach efforts
- Perform any other tasks as may be assigned to fulfill the role by the Center Location Pastor or Associate Pastor.
Skills Required for Position:
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Google, Apple and ProPresenter, Applications.
- Previous leadership experience working in student’s ministry in a relatively large church setting.
- Demonstrated understanding and ability to share the gospel of Jesus Christ from an age appropriate perspective
- Strong presence teaching to large audiences of students and adults.
- Previous leadership experience serving a diverse population of student.
- Experience with and ability to learn and leverage relevant technology and social media platforms for Crossings Students including Rock, Planning Center Online, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter strongly preferred.

Physical & Other Requirements for Position
- Be able to walk a long distance (up to a quarter of a mile); and be able to lift and carry 25-35 lbs. parcels for distances of up to 500 feet.
- Able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
- Possess a current unrestricted driver’s license.
- This is a safety sensitive position where the employee holding this position had the responsibility of his/her own safety and the safety of others including minors.
- Drug free workplace.
Education and Experience:
- Experience with students programming and curriculum development.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Childhood Education/Child Development, Christian Education or related field.
- Experience working with vulnerable students and families.
- Attends Crossings on a consistent basis to understand culture, mission and vision preferred.
