Crossroads Animal Hospital is currently seeking enthusiastic and caring individuals to join our team as a Veterinary Assistant. Crossroads Animal Hospital is an active 5-doctor general practice that provides high-quality care and medicine for our canine and feline patients. We have top of the line equipment to provide excellent outpatient, inpatient, surgical, and dental care through in-house laboratory, digital x-ray (including dental x-ray), laser therapy, acupuncture, cryosurgery, and much more.
We are looking for full or part time candidates to join our team Monday through Friday (NO WEEKENDS!). There is opportunity for upward growth to become a Veterinary Technician or Client Care Representative pending interest and individual performance.
Roles and Responsibilities include:
- Maintain a professional, friendly, and helpful attitude
- Clean kennels, exam tables, and sterilize equipment
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Walk, feed, and clean animals
- Keep all areas of the hospital clean, sanitized, and organized
- Restrain animals during treatments, vaccines, and procedures
- Administer medications prescribed by Veterinarians / directed by Technicians
- Process laboratory samples
- Wash hospital laundry and restock exam rooms
- Fill prescriptions
Requirements and Expected Skills:
- Comfortable with handling animals of various sizes and temperaments
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Patient and caring personality
- Growth mindset
- Competent computer skills
- Proficient at following instructions properly
- Ability to meet physical demands of this role (e.g. lift up to 40-lbs, be on your feet for extended periods of time)
- Eager to learn
- Receptive to direction and teaching
- Previous experience as a veterinary assistant preferred but not required
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $19.00 per hour
