We are actively seeking a skilled Material Handler/Forklift Operator for our bottled water plant in Reading, PA. As a proud Berks County business specializing in private-label bottled water, we are looking for dedicated team members who will commit to maintaining our high standards!
What We’re Looking For:
The Material Handler will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout our manufacturing facility. This role involves operating a sit-down propane forklift with single & double forks. Accurate material handling procedures must be followed. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, excellent math and reasoning skills, and a commitment to safety.
Material Handling Responsibilities
- Unload raw materials from trucks and put away, accurately receive, verify, and store incoming materials.
- Load trucks with finished products to fill customer orders.
- Move materials between workstations and storage areas.
- Computer input of materials received.
- Perform cycle counts and physical inventory checks as required.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of materials to prevent damage.
- Complete necessary paperwork and data entry accurately and timely.
- Report any discrepancies or issues related to materials or inventory.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Accurately receive, verify, and store incoming materials.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid and unrestricted Driver’s License
- Proven experience as a sit-down propane forklift operator in a manufacturing setting
- Food/beverage industry with knowledge of GMP, SQF, and HACCP is a plus.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong math, counting, and reasoning skills.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and inventory.
- Ability to stand, move, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, bend, lift, reach, grasp, squat, crawl, use fingers, hands, and arms to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects throughout shift.
- Lift 50 lbs. as needed throughout shift.
- Ability to speak, write, read and interpret bill of ladings, packing slips, and other documentation in English.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- MUST BE RELIABLE and have excellent attendance.
Work Environment:
- 24/7, fast paced manufacturing and warehouse operations.
- Will work around other forklifts, equipment, machinery, moving parts, and pedestrian traffic.
- Plant is not climate-controlled, it will be hot in the summer, cool/cold in the winter.
- Proper PPE must be worn.
Schedule:
- 7:00am – 4:00 pm
- Monday – Friday
- Overtime flexibility
