Crossroads Center for Children is located in Schenectady, NY and offers several different programs for children ages two through twelve. This position for the Clinic involves providing ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) therapy to a child in an individual instruction arrangement (one client, one staff) for the purpose of teaching them skills that will help them lead the most independent and fulfilling life possible. All children are diagnosed with autism and range in age from two to twelve years. Services occur primarily at the Clinic located in Schenectady. However, services may also occur in the child's home, child-care setting, other community setting under certain conditions. Although Behavior Technicians are working independently in the field, there is frequent supervision and collaboration with a masters-level supervisor.
Candidates would work between 37.5 hours per week and will be assigned a client caseload between the hours of 8 AM and 5:00 PM on weekdays (Monday through Friday). This position is a 52 week position with a full benefits package including up to 35 paid days off per year (7 weeks) including federal holidays, sick time, personal and vacation days. Additionally there are opportunities for advancement (behavior technician level two, behavior technician level three, and lead behavior technician). All training for this position is provided by Crossroads Center for Children.
Candidates must possess:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Bachelors degree in related field preferred
- Preferred prior experience in childcare or working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Strong organizational skills

Behavior Technicians are (Job description):
- Expected to plan/conduct therapy activities, under the guidance of their supervisor, according to the client's treatment plan (which is developed by the supervisor)
- Expected to work directly with young children with autism in either a 1:1 instructional arrangement or social group format
- Responsible for documenting the skills of the client so that treatment decisions can be made
- Expected to communicate regularly and professionally with parents/caregivers and his/her supervisor submit required paperwork in a timely manner
- Expected to participate in meetings to review client progress and develop goals and intervention strategies for clients.
- Expected to maintain client materials and documentation systems.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.50 - $18.00 per hour
