JOB SUMMARY
Audio Technicians are responsible for the organization and execution of live technical elements at Crossroads. This may include setup and support for rehearsals, live, virtual, or hybrid events. Technicians work with staff and volunteers to prepare and operate audio, video, and other necessary equipment. This role requires a unique mixture of technical knowledge and ability balanced with solid communication and leadership. This position reports directly to a Senior Audio Technician and works closely with Producers, Worship Leaders, and all other teams in our auditoriums and event spaces. Audio Technicians work closely with site staff and volunteers to create environments that meet the creative and teaching objectives set by the Central Experience Team. Audio Technicians will also work closely with other projects related to experiences, such as equipment maintenance, video production, theatrical set changes, and training staff and volunteers in the operation of technical equipment.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- On a weekly basis, this may include:
- Operating and programming necessary equipment for services or events
- Troubleshooting technical systems as needed
- Participation in production team meetings
- Ensuring smooth technical transitions throughout the service, identifying areas for improvement
- Working with the site experience team to adapt and execute changes following the run-through
- Training technical volunteers
- Performing routine maintenance of AVL systems (hardware and software)
- Planning and execution of special services and events
- Participating in other projects such as video shoots, concerts, student ministry events, and camps as needed
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- College degree or equivalent field experience preferred
Skill Requirements
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks
- Knowledge of the Google web platform and willingness to learn other software tools as needed
- Organized, disciplined with priorities, meticulous attention to detail
- Extensive working knowledge of live event technical systems in one or more areas of discipline (audio, rigging, programming, etc.)
- Extensive experience in on & off-site technical support for live production systems with an excellent ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Driven & independent worker with a high attention to detail and a desire for excellence
- Proficiency in several of the following:
- Mac OS X
- Digico consoles and systems
- Yamaha consoles
- SMAART
- Wireless Workbench
- Ableton Live
- Logic Pro
- IP Communications
- Signal flow and routing
- Broadcast Audio
Physical Requirements
- Performs effectively under pressure and against strict time constraints
- Must be able to walk up to 5 miles, standing, climbing, lifting, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching as duties required
- Must be able to lift 25 to 50 lbs
- Able to work independently without direct supervision
Scheduling / Travel Requirements
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays, weekends, and other high-impact events at Crossroads.
