JOB SUMMARY
The Building Operations Team Member is responsible for the maintenance of Crossroads’ sites, handling building and equipment emergencies on an ongoing basis and delivering a well-maintained facility to be used by Crossroads and outside parties.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performing maintenance and repair activities for building and equipment.
- Perform skilled preventive maintenance in areas of carpentry, electrical, plumbing and painting.
- Conducting regular building inspections and preparing the necessary work order requests.
- Responding to inquiries and requests by building tenants and resolving any problems or issues timely.
- Monitoring building schedule and providing needed support for non-staff tenants hosting events on Crossroads property.
- Guiding cleaning contractors and ensuring their services meet Crossroads cleaning standards.
- Recruit, develop, and lead volunteer teams
- Manage and maintain all event support properties (i.e. folding chairs, tables,etc…)
- Protects all entities’ (including Crossroads’) value by keeping information confidential.
- Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment among our staff and complete the work necessary to fully serve and support the vision and mission of the entities including Crossroads.
- Attend regular ministry team meetings, all-staff meetings and participate in additional meetings when requested to do so.
- Perform other duties as requested by manager and leadership.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience / Skills Requirements:
- General residential/commercial maintenance knowledge is essential.
- At least 3 years of experience performing general maintenance or in a similar role is preferred.
- Excellent project management skills are required.
- Able to work with a minimum of supervision while understanding the necessity for communication and coordinating work efforts with other staff and organizations.
- Possesses strong organizational, communication, and decision making skills.
- Ability to lead volunteers and volunteer teams in the execution of projects is essential.
Physical Requirements:
- The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. Generally the job requires 20% sitting, 30% walking, and 50% standing.
Scheduling / Travel Requirements
- Travel between properties will be required.
