JOB SUMMARY
The Video Production Assistant is a multipurpose video/film crew role on the video team. It has 2 main components:
The Video Production Assistant is a multipurpose video/film crew role on the video team. It has 2 main components:
- On set the video production assistant is a flexible crew member who can perform a variety of roles depending on what is needed for each shoot. As a member of the crew, the video production assistant needs a broad production skillset and the ability to collaborate well with the rest of the production team.
- In pre-production and prep the video production assistant is responsible for maintaining our in-house production gear, managing rental equipment, and working with DP’s to prep equipment (both camera and grip/lighting) for specific shoots.
JOB SPECIFIC PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for gear prep for shoots including rental equipment pick up and return.
- Perform a variety of roles on set as needed, including camera operator, AC, location sound/boom op, grip, electric, etc.
- Ownership of ongoing gear maintenance for a variety of camera, grip and lighting equipment.
JOB SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 1-3 years of professional video/film production experience preferred.
Skill Requirements
- Have a working knowledge of a variety of video/film production equipment including cameras, camera support, lighting and grip equipment.
- Experience in a variety of on set roles and an understanding of set protocol and structure.
- Must be able to drive and operate a 28 ft. box truck with 3-5 ton grip package.
- Strong work ethic.
- Attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
Physical Requirements
- Performs effectively under pressure and against strict time constraints.
- Must be able to work on location in a variety of weather conditions.
- Must be able to walk up to 3 miles.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
Scheduling/Travel Requirements
The work schedule for this position varies. Prep days are typically 9-5 M-F, but shoot day call times vary and may occasionally require weekend availability.
There is the potential for travel in this role (domestic and international).
