About us
Crossroads Community Church is a non-denominational church in Kokomo, IN. Our vision is to "Meet people where they are and help them take thier next step with Christ." Our daycare serves an average of 130 children per day representing approximately 110 families. We operate Monday through Friday 6am - 6pm.
We are looking for experienced and passionate Daycare Teachers to join our ministry team.
Under the general supervision and guidance of the Daycare Ministry director, the Daycare Ministry Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing environment where children can play and learn. Teachers plan the lessons for the week, utilizing curriculum and guidance provided. The Teacher also shows and teaches children about the love of Jesus while preparing them for life and school. Teachers partner and connect with parents, with a shared desire to provide the best care and education for their children. This position involves extensive organizing, problem solving, record keeping, and time management.
Job Responsibilities:
- Carry & cast the vision of Crossroads to daycare ministry staff, parents, and children.

- Demonstrate Biblical principles to show how much Jesus loves them.
- Teach basic fundamentals such as numbers, colors, shapes, letters, and Bible stories.
- Help children learn social skills, including mealtime manners, building positive relationships, communication, and emotional intelligence.
- Exercise creativity through crafts and playtime with children.
- Ensuring the children have good hygiene; helping wash hands and changing diapers as necessary.
- Cleaning interactive areas throughout the day.
- Organizing activities and utilizing curriculum.
- Developing and maintaining a schedule for the children throughout the day.
- Serving snacks and meals to the children in developmentally appropriate ways.
- Participate in general staff meetings and other events as requested.
- Able to complete and maintain CPR, First Aid, Universal Precautions, and Safe Sleep trainings/certifications.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
Physical Requirements
- Be able to lift 40 pounds.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to: use kitchen utensils and equipment, wash dishes, operate office equipment, use hand writing materials, and able to use a computer/tablet with basic proficiency.
- Must be able to physically move through the center and classrooms both inside and out.
- Physical ability to remain on feet for extended periods of time.
- Physical agility to bend, stoop, walk, reach overhead, push/pull, squat, twist, and turn.
- Able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children.
