Job Summary:
The Human Resource Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s human resource department.
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation while ensuring their integrity and confidentiality.
- Maintain system for tracking required licensures and certifications to stay compliant with state and federal guidelines, notifies managers for timely follow-up with their staff.
- Implements and tracks employee mandatory education on Relias per HCBS and CARF guidelines.
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, hiring processes, and benefits; refers complex inquiries to the HR Director.
- Provides clerical support to the HR department.
- Conducts or assists with new hire orientation to welcome new employees and establish a sense of belonging and connection to the organization.
- Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, and retirement celebrations.
- Communicates with applicants, schedules interviews, and supports the overall applicant experience.
- Assists with community events to support recruitment strategies, including job fairs and similar initiatives.
- Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors in the absence of the HR Director.
- May assist with answering employee questions regarding payroll, PTO, and benefits.
- Basic knowledge of regulatory laws including: EEO, FMLA, FLSA, HCBS, CARF, and OSHA.
- Assists in reviews of HCBS, CARF, and CACFP audits.
- Point of contact for third-party IT Department (RNS)
- Works with the HR Director to advance strategic HR initiatives, promoting innovation and efficiency.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Required Training: Complete 7 hours employment training within 6 months of hire.
- Maintain current driver's license and current auto insurance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Background Checks: Candidates must successfully pass required background checks as mandated by state and federal regulations, including those necessary for compliance with Medicaid provision standards.
- Compliance: Candidates must meet all requirements for employment within roles governed by DHS or other relevant regulatory bodies.
Education: High school diploma
Experience: Preferred past work experience in human resources.

Technology/Equipment: Ability to operate a variety of office equipment to include but not limited to personal computers, printers, and scanners. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software. Ability to learn new software and business concepts.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Physical Demands: Light to moderate levels of physical exertion: sitting, stooping, standing, kneeling, etc. Hand and arm manipulation of office equipment is necessary.
Mental Demands: Using standard mental and visual attention continuously, with occasional periods of continuous alertness and concentration.
Hearing: The noise level in the office environment is occasionally quiet and frequently moderate.
Environment: Inside Corporate Office with occasional drive/travel time to other buildings.
