The Family Shelter Case Manager plays a crucial role in providing support and guidance to individuals experiencing homelessness, housing instability or substance abuse issues. Responsibilities
- Works under the direction of the Shelter Coordinator/Shelter Director.
- Provides shelter to homeless persons in accordance with Crossroads Mission policies and procedures.
- Enforces the rules and policies governing the employees, clients, and guest behavior.
- Supervises all residents and volunteers in their assigned work responsibilities.
- Participates in all staff training events and organizational meetings.
- Compiles and maintains records developed during the course of providing services.
- Implements quality control activities and procedures as required.
- Participates in evaluations of the effectiveness of services provided by Crossroads Mission.
- Advises the Shelter Coordinator/ Shelter Director regarding significant issues affecting the family shelter and New Life programs operated by Crossroads Mission
Skills
- High School diploma or GED.
- Peer Support Certification helpful but not required.
- Familiarity with behavioral health issues and available resources for clients.
- Knowledge of substance use disorder treatment approaches.
- Strong foundation in social work principles and practices.
- Proficient in crisis management techniques to handle urgent client situations effectively.
- Ability to employ motivational interviewing skills to foster client motivation and empowerment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
