Position: Medical Respite Support Staff
Reports To: Front Desk Supervisor
Purpose of Position: Oversees daily operation of 9 bed respite program. Engages Medical Respite clients to orient them to the program and ensures a safe and supportive environment is maintained for all participants. Coordinates support services and access to all internal and external resources. In collaboration with clients and Hospital staff provide planning for transition/discharge from respite. Provides support to the operations of the Front Desk staff on shift to ensure that environment is safe, respectful and trauma informed.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Advocates for the mission of the organization and promotes and upholds the agency’s values.
- Delivers service with safety, respect and effectiveness.
- Provides program orientation for new participants including program expectations and guidelines.
- Conduct thorough assessments with new clients, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and accurately entered into the database.
- Oversee and manage daily Respite operations including meal delivery and quality, cleanliness of the rooms and that adequate supplies are accessible.
- Conduct daily check-ins with clients to address concerns and ensure compliance with program expectations and maintain detailed records of client interactions, services provided, and other relevant information.
- Respond to and provide timely communication related to program operations, client issues and incidents with partner organization, front desk and supervisors.
- Assist with discharge planning, coordinating with clients, case managers, and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition.
- Coordinate daily and weekly laundry services, ensuring timely and fair access for clients.
- Manage client belongings in accordance with Medical Respite policies.
- Act as a liaison between clients and other staff, promoting open communication and addressing client concerns.
- Collaborate with case managers, healthcare providers, and other team members to support client care plans.
- Support additional Medical Respite activities and responsibilities as needed to maintain operations and meet client needs.
- Provides backup coverage for reception staff as needed.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Associate degree and/or certificate in the Human Services field. Equivalent experience working with disempowered and oppressed populations may be considered in lieu of degree / certificate.
- At least 1 year of experience in Human Services field such as advocacy or case management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

- Capacity to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations.
- Excellent engagement and assessment skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and be a team player.

- Ability to take and supply constructive feedback.
- Must successfully complete Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training within 3 months of hire. Show willingness to learn Motivational Interviewing and Trauma Informed Care techniques and employ them.
- Strong professional boundaries.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel Outlook, etc.) and data entry etc.?
