Description
Position : Training Coordinator Part-time
Reports To : TBD
Purpose of Position : Provide training based on our Housing First service delivery model for direct care staff and supervisors as well as other essential training. Training will include on-boarding to provide new employees with basic knowledge and skills and intermediate training to ensure staff are equipped to be effective and achieve programmatic outcomes. In collaboration with the Senior Director of EES and Training and other Directors evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements for continued staff development.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Advocates for the mission of the organization and upholds the agency's values.
- Delivers services with safety, respect, and effectiveness.
- Follows all policies and procedures of the organization
- In collaboration with management team, Human Resources, and other stakeholders, implement comprehensive training program for direct service staff to ensure staff receive adequate orientation and ongoing skills development to provide effective services and achieve program outcomes.
- Provide training on : Crossroads values, service philosophy (Housing First), models (e.g., Trauma Informed Care, Harm Reduction, etc.), techniques (e.g., Motivational Interviewing, Mental Health First Aid), assessment (SPDAT co-teach with other staff), de-escalation skills, ethics and boundaries, policies and procedures, and other identified areas.
- Develop or identify intermediate and advanced training for continued staff development in areas such as Trauma Informed Care, Progressive Engagement, Motivational Interviewing and other areas to be determined.
- Develop and manage training schedule for new staff orientation and ongoing staff development.
- Develop, in collaboration with Directors, tools for monitoring staff performance and integration of skills (e.g., job shadowing, structured supervision, and case conferencing) to ensure that skills and competencies are fully integrated into program leadership and direct services to clients.
- Coordinate training logistics such as scheduling space, ensuring adequate materials, etc.
- Arrange for training by other Crossroads employees or outside providers when appropriate.
- Evaluate and assess training effectiveness utilizing participant feedback, supervisory feedback / shadowing, and continued research to ensure trainings reflect evidenced based practices and emerging staff / client need
