Salary Range: $20.00 - $22.00 Hourly
Description
As a lifeguard, the primary responsibility is to provide and maintain a safe swim environment for program participants. Additional responsibilities extend to daily aspects of aquatic operations, including but not limited to assisting with daily operational needs of the swimming program, student scheduling, or locker room supervision and clean up.
Essential Job Functions:
- Conducts swimming lessons for patrons
- Assists the Pool Manager in the operation of a swimming pool facility
- Coaches water sports
- Ensures adherence to water safety rules and practices, and responds to participants in danger by performing water rescues and administering first aid; and performs other related duties as assigned

Physical Demands
- Must have the ability to swim 500 yards in 10 minutes, 30 seconds.
- Must be able to assist in removing a victim from the water using a backboard.
- Must be able to tread water for 2 minutes without use of arms.
- Must hold current American Red Cross certifications in Lifeguard Training, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and First Aid and Safety certifications.
- Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification and experience teaching swim skills to children is preferred
