Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Middle School Spanish Teacher to join our faculty. This full-time position requires a dedicated educator to teach Spanish to students in grades 6-8, focusing on building foundational language skills, cultural awareness, and fostering a love for learning a new language. The ideal candidate will create an engaging, interactive, and supportive classroom environment, using a variety of teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students. Introductions to contemporary life and culture of the many-diverse Spanish-speaking countries round out the programming.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Spanish language classes (grades 6-8), focusing on speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with school standards and learning objectives.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and structured classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Introduce students to the diverse cultures and customs of Spanish-speaking countries through multimedia, real-life experiences, and projects.
- Regularly assess and evaluate student progress using tests, quizzes, projects, and class participation.
- Provide individualized support to students, offering extra help when needed, and tracking academic growth.
- Work closely with the Spanish Department Coordinator and other faculty members to ensure cohesive interdisciplinary learning.
- Maintain clear communication with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom activities.
Required Experience, Education, Knowledge, Skills & Ability
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience with a demonstrated record of growth and increasing responsibility.
- Experience with progressive educational models and curriculum development.
- Strong cultural competency, with a proven ability to work effectively with families from diverse backgrounds.
- Exceptional team-building and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in word processing, MS Office, and Google Docs.
- Professional, approachable demeanor and outlook.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Impeccable ethical standards and a strong commitment to confidentiality.
- Fluency in Spanish or another language is preferred.
Salary : $59,000 - $110,000
