Day in the Life of a Peer Recovery Specialist
- Under the clinical supervision of a Supervising Counselor, the CPRS assists in developing and monitoring a recovery plan in collaboration with their patients
- Teaches, role models, coaches how to use resources and navigate the mental health and / or substance use disorder systems.
- Teaches, supports, coaches the acquisition and exercise of skills needed for management of symptoms.
- Encourages appropriate use of medication; holds patients accountable for their actions; teaches, models monitoring symptoms and / or medication reactions, effective communication with doctors and therapists.
- Teaches, models, coaches skills and attributes needed to attain and maintain employment and housing.
- Other duties as assigned by Program Supervisor or designee.

Our Peer Recovery Specialists enjoys an early morning schedule with early afternoon out times. It is expected that Peer Recovery Specialists have flexibility to support on weekends and if applicable, evenings. Expected hours for this role are 37-40 hours per week.
