Position Summary: The EMR Training Specialist is responsible for providing focused training and support to
Crossroads' staff, inclusive of clinic staff as well as members of the Field Support Office (Corporate) office, as
needed. The person in this role will serve as the "translator" between EMR functions and clinic functions. This
role will be responsible for assisting with new hire orientation - especially as it relates to training on use of
EMR systems and their use. The EMR Training Specialist will also be responsible for compiling feedback on EMR
questions, issues, and needs from clinic staff and coordinating resolution, additional training, etc. with the
Director of Training and other applicable departments. The EMR Specialist will also be responsible for assisting
with implementing training plans at the direction of the Director of Training and Special Projects, assisting with
transition plans for acquisition clinics, and providing support for new leaders in de novo clinics. This person
may be asked to assist in developing training materials and, as such, should demonstrate exceptional
knowledge of Crossroads Policies and Procedures, payor requirements, and state and federal regulations. This
position will also work closely with other departments under the direction of the Director of Training and
Special Projects, including Compliance, Revenue Cycle Management, and Payer Contracting to provide
education directly to clinic staff aimed at improving areas of opportunity found from compliance audits and
other methods.
This position can be fulfilled with remote working, with occasional travel required as needed
to clinics to provide training and support, and to the Field Support (corporate) Office located in Greenville, SC
for executive meetings, training events, etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
• Providing training on EMR use within Crossroads' clinics and offer guidance and strategies for utilization
• Recommending clinic staff who have demonstrated exceptional abilities with optimizing EMR usage, including
identifying emerging leaders
• Participating in weekly meetings with the Training team to review and discuss training needs, training
initiatives, new hire orientation process, etc.
• Assisting with quarterly Program Director/Supervisor bootcamps and leading training sessions
• Identifying EMR resource needs at the clinic and corporate level, including development of a comprehensive
training manual for page functions, tips for use, and important things to know
• Follow up on and assist with New Hire Orientation
• Identifying opportunities to optimize EMR usage based on direct feedback and work with Director of Training
and Special Projects to coordinate plan for implementation of needed changes
• Devising and implementing aspects of acquisition transition training and providing training at the clinic level
in accordance with that plan
• Assisting with quarterly Train the Trainer events with designated field staff who participate in training new
team members, Program Directors, Regional Directors, etc., at the direction of the Director of Training and
Special Projects
• Other training activities and duties as directed by the Director of Training and Special Projects

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree and/or minimum of 2-3 years' experience in substance abuse
treatment in a clinical role or leadership role. Crossroads experience preferred. Clinical certification with IC&RC
reciprocity preferred.
