We are searching for a dynamic individual to become the Employment Specialist (part-time). This position helps individuals understand their capabilities and interests and set career goals. They explore a patient potential as it relates to the job market and coaches’ individuals in all phases of the job search process including but not limited to providing job coaching, outreach the community, setting up volunteer and internship opportunities, meeting with potential and current employers and resolving issues.
All positions require pre-employment drug screening and background check.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Develop an individual employment (and/or education) plan with patients. The job development and job search activities should be directed toward positions that are individualized to the interests and uniqueness of the people on their caseload, following the principles and procedures of IPS-supported employment.
To advance their employment goals, provide supported education, using principles like supported employment for patients who express interest in education.
Conduct outreach to potential employers to learn about the business's needs, describe the support offered by the program, and describe client strengths relevant to the position.
Provide individualized follow-along support to assist client in maintaining employment. Provide outreach services as necessary to clients when they appear to disengage from the service.
Write job support plans with clients, incorporating input from the substance use disorder treatment team and adjusting the plan according to the clients’ needs and preferences.
Provide education and support to employers as agreed upon by clients, which may include negotiating job accommodation and follow-along contact by the employment specialist with the employer.
Assist clients in obtaining information about their benefits (SSI, Medicaid, etc.) and how they will be affected by employment so that clients can make good decisions about employment opportunities. Refer patients to benefits counseling and report earnings as needed.
Attend monthly and quarterly meetings with the Colorado IPS Learning Community and the IPS Employment Center.
Develop standing relationships with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation office in their respective communities to ensure sustainability of employment support services following the grant term.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in human services and/or Business or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Five years of experience.
Other:
Valid driver’s license and insurability.
Strong communication and computer skills required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The maximum expected weight for any physical moving requirement should not exceed 25 lbs. Must be able to stand, walk and sit, including driving, for long periods. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Most of the work performed for this position is done in an office setting or the community.
