We are searching for dynamic individuals to become the Behavioral Health Clinician IV for the unit. This position provides co-occurring counseling services to individuals, couples, families, and groups. Internal candidates, please fill out the internal application.
All applicants must undergo pre-employment drug screening,
which includes testing for marijuana, as well as background checks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
Minimum of a master’s degree in social work, psychology, or counseling.
Licensure
It requires licensure in LPC, LCSW, or LMFT.
CAS, in addition to the license, is preferred, and one must be able to obtain CAS certification within 18 months of being hired.
Experience
Minimum of two (2) years working in the mental health field.
Previous substance abuse treatment experience and expertise with trauma preferred.
Demonstrated experience working with interdisciplinary teams.
Other
Must understand ASAM and SOA-R level of care criteria.
Must have solid verbal and written communication skills.
Computer Skills Required.
CPR and first-aid certification. (The agency pays for initial training and renewals).
Valid driver's license and insurability.
Physical Demands
They must be able to stand, walk, and sit, including driving for long periods. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Conducts co-occurring patient assessments. Places patients into appropriate levels of care.
- Conducts group, family, and individual counseling sessions. May conduct psycho-educational or family groups.
- Works with co-occurring patients to develop and update treatment plans and goals.
- Monitors patient behaviors and progress. Incorporates behavior modification and stress management therapy to assist patients in controlling substance abuse and other problems.
- Administers and analyzes patient testing instruments and reviews results of tests to evaluate client needs.
- Provides patients with therapeutic projects, recreational therapy, or other activities.
- Assures that all documentation is complete by established deadlines. Maintains patient records according to licensing regulations. Regularly reports clinical status to unit supervisor.
- Participates in staffing patients with the appropriate team and communicates with community referral sources, including, but not limited to, probation, parole, and DSS.
- Crisis intervention and arranging for hospitalization as needed.
- Coordinates and refers to supportive services in the community to supplement treatment and counseling. Assist patients in obtaining services to become self-sufficient and prevent relapses on time.
- May be required to assist in urine/breath testing and monitoring.
- Must travel to outlying sites to train and treat patients.
- May maintain OTP caseload and conduct annual updates: CCARs and DACODs.
