We seek a dynamic individual to become the PRN Float Care Technician . This position involves participating as a team member of the assigned unit and assisting counseling staff in providing a variety of alcohol and drug-related services by performing the following duties.
All applicants must undergo pre-employment drug screening,
which includes testing for marijuana, as well as background checks.
SUMMARY :
Coordinate and monitor patient activities and meet patient needs. The PRN Float Care Technicians will be cross trained to work in all Crossroads' residential programs (male and female) and the Pueblo Withdrawal Management program. Training will include monitoring patients, documenting in Crossroads' electronic health records, and learning to communicate and de-escalate patients in the assigned program. The schedule will vary to accommodate 24 / 7-unit staffing needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Takes vital signs as required.
Conducts intakes, screens, and assesses potential patients. Obtains pertinent information regarding patients' drug / alcohol use, medical and social history, and needs.
Assures that all documentation is complete and follows established deadlines.
Provides acute case management services to all patients enrolled in the designated program. Completes necessary paperwork. Monitors patients throughout the shift.
Assists in medical / mental health treatment referrals and informs supervisor of all incidents beyond the scope of the typical monitoring functions.
Verify the accuracy of monitoring reports.
Transports patients to and from appointments, support groups, employment searches, etc.
Maintains security of assigned unit by CTP policy and procedure.
Monitors patients and their activities. Accurately documents activities of each patient during assigned shift.
Responsible for reporting all patient infractions, concerns, or problems to the primary counselor or supervisor
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS : Education :
Minimum of HS diploma or GED.
An AA or BA degree in human service or related is preferred.
Current Certify Addiction Technician (CAT), or ability to obtain CAT within 18 months of hire date required.
Experience :
Prior experience with substance abuse providing direct patient care, assessment, triage, crisis intervention, and group counseling.
Other :
Solid communication skills and basic computer skills required.
CPR and First-Aid certification (initial training and renewals paid for by agency).
Must be able to take vital signs and recognize medical problems.
Valid driver's license and insurability.
