Greenhouse Manager

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Greenhouse Manager to oversee the daily operations of our greenhouse facility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for horticulture and a strong understanding of plant care, irrigation systems, and greenhouse management. This role involves both hands-on work and strategic planning to ensure optimal growth conditions for our plants while maintaining the overall health of the greenhouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the greenhouse, including planting, growing, and harvesting crops.
• Oversee irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and techniques are implemented.
• Utilize mechanical knowledge to maintain and repair greenhouse equipment and tools.
• Implement pest management strategies and monitor plant health regularly.
• Coordinate with staff on planting schedules, crop rotation, and maintenance tasks.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in outdoor work environments.
• Maintain accurate records of plant growth, inventory levels, and environmental conditions within the greenhouse.
• Develop landscaping plans as needed for aesthetic enhancement of the facility.

Experience

• Previous experience in a greenhouse or farm setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with lawn care practices and landscape maintenance is advantageous.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and mechanical equipment related to horticulture.
• Strong understanding of growing techniques for various plants and crops.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while performing physical tasks.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing plant care processes.
